Parties and Special Events
What Do Parties Include?
Urban Kangaroo comes to your location and brings customized playlists and wireless electronic equipment. Ms. Shona provides name badges, props, and Certificates of Achievement for all dancers. She provides fresh, customized choreography and dance related games. She can teach dance in your backyard, your basement, or your living room (if you remove the furniture). Some party planners decide to rent a local fitness room, a neighborhood clubhouse, or a pavilion at a park. Urban Kangaroo will travel within reason around the DC metro area.
Joey Package Birthday Parties (Age 4-6)
This event typically lasts 1 hour with a break in the middle. Because of the attention span and learning style of this age group, it is best to intersperse the dancing and games throughout the party. Ms. Shona will teach basic dance combos as well as movement games. Often the games will include props and the dances can incorporate favorite kid-themes such as Moana or Frozen. These parties do best with less than 12 participants.
Special Events such as Girl Scout Troops, Extended Day Workshops, Summer Camp Entertainers, etc.
Urban Kangaroo is willing to work with you on creating fun and interactive special events. Ms. Shona can lead Girl Scout Troops toward a particular badge, teach team building to Brownie Troops, provide energetic entertainment for PTA/PTOs and push-in to summer camps and day care facilities. Urban Kangaroo has provided large scale classes for up to 150 students at a time and has performed at large local events such as the Jennifer-Bush Lawson 5k and Family Fun Day.
Pricing for the birthday packages are between $200 - $300 dependent on length, location, number of participants, and details of the event. Special event prices vary and require collaboration in advance with Ms. Shona. Please email [email protected] to inquire about availability.
